- If I may tap your experience a little deeper on the subject of C++ functions
- that return references — how does this affect the implementation of classes
- which overload the subscripting operator ([]), like arrays, vectors, and
- matices? It was my understanding that the ability to return references was
- included in C++ largely to address this specific need.
